Mad Max | V8 Edition

An original alternative movie poster design inspired by the 1979 George Miller cult classic Mad Max.

The poster was created to capture the era limited palette style as seen in the original regional cinema releases.

The black & white and ‘high speed’ red design features Max as the key element; dressed in his police uniform and wielding his sawed-off double barrel shotgun. Max’s iconic black on black V8 Pursuit Special ‘Interceptor’ races through the design in pursuit of ToeCutter as seen in the films showdown finale. With its high speed pursuits and ‘Maximum’ tagline the design utilizes the Interceptors redlining Speedometer as a backdrop.

Era specific logos and taglines have also been thoughtfully incorporated to enhance the nostalgic feel.

As a fan of the movie I was compelled to create a variant which features the bold and colourful ‘Mobile Force Patrol’ theme. Max’s initial bright yellow MFP Interceptor pops against the background which utilises the cars livery.

Landscape versions were also created with a greater focus on the cars.
